Remote Field Testing (RFT) is applied to ferromagnetic tubes such as carbon steel, detecting both internal and external corrosion using electromagnetic fields that pass through the tube wall. RFT provides accurate detection even in thick-walled tubes, making it especially suitable for industries such as power generation and petrochemicals where large numbers of ferromagnetic tubes need to be inspected.
